Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
Application

Western Blot (Tissue lysate)

Western blot analysis of mouse brain tissue lysate.

Immunofluorescence
Application

Immunofluorescence

Immunofluorescence analysis of U87 MG cells. The cell was stained with APP monoclonal antibody, clone J4H9 (1:100). The secondary antibody (green) was used Alexa Fluor 488. DAPI was stained the cell nucleus (blue).

Flow Cytometry
Application

Flow Cytometry

Flow cytometric analysis of 293T cells. The cell was stained with APP monoclonal antibody, clone J4H9 at 2-5 ug for 1x106cells (red). A Goat anti mouse IgG (Alexa fluor 488) was used as the secondary antibody. Mouse monoclonal IgG was used as the isotype control (dark gray), cells without incubation with primary and secondary antibody was used as the negative control (light gray).

    Gene Summary

This gene encodes a cell surface receptor and transmembrane precursor protein that is cleaved by secretases to form a number of peptides. Some of these peptides are secreted and can bind to the acetyltransferase complex APBB1/TIP60 to promote transcriptional activation, while others form the protein basis of the amyloid plaques found in the brains of patients with Alzheimer disease. Mutations in this gene have been implicated in autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease and cerebroarterial amyloidosis (cerebral amyloid angiopathy). Multiple transcript variants encoding several different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq
