Applications
Western Blot (Cell lysate)
Western blot analysis of Hela (A), A549 (B) whole cell lysates with EGFR (Phospho Y1173) recombinant monoclonal antibody (Cat # RAB02570).Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Immunohistochemical analysis of human lung cancer formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue section using EGFR (Phospho Y1173) recombinant monoclonal antibody (Cat # RAB02570). The section was pre-treated using heat mediated antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6.92). The section was then incubated with the antibody at room temperature and detected using an HRP conjugated compact polymer system. DAB was used as the chromogen. The section was then counterstained with haematoxylin and mounted with DPX.Immunocytochemistry
Immunofluorescence
Immunofluorescent analysis of HeLa cells with EGFR (Phospho Y1173) recombinant monoclonal antibody (Cat # RAB02570). Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a hidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a AF488-conjugated secondary antibody (green) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.Immunoprecipitation

Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a transmembrane glycoprotein that is a member of the protein kinase superfamily. This protein is a receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family. EGFR is a cell surface protein that binds to epidermal growth factor. Binding of the protein to a ligand induces receptor dimerization and tyrosine autophosphorylation and leads to cell proliferation. Mutations in this gene are associated with lung cancer.
