Product Description
This protein protein interaction antibody pair set comes with two antibodies to detect the protein-protein interaction, one against the BDNF protein, and the other against the NTF4 protein for use in in situ Proximity Ligation Assay. See Publication Reference below.
Reactivity
Human
Quality Control Testing
Protein protein interaction immunofluorescence result.
Representative image of Proximity Ligation Assay of protein-protein interactions between BDNF and NTF4. HeLa cells were stained with anti-BDNF rabbit purified polyclonal antibody 1:1200 and anti-NTF4 mouse monoclonal antibody 1:50. Each red dot represents the detection of protein-protein interaction complex. The images were analyzed using an optimized freeware (BlobFinder) download from The Centre for Image Analysis at Uppsala University.
Supplied Product
Antibody pair set content:
1. BDNF rabbit purified polyclonal antibody (100 ug)
2. NTF4 mouse monoclonal antibody (40 ug)
*Reagents are sufficient for at least 30-50 assays using recommended protocols.Storage Instruction

Gene Info — BDNF
Entrez GeneID
627Gene Name
BDNF
Gene Alias
MGC34632
Gene Description
brain-derived neurotrophic factor
Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the nerve growth factor family. It is induced by cortical neurons, and is necessary for survival of striatal neurons in the brain. Expression of this gene is reduced in both Alzheimer's and Huntington disease patients. This gene may play a role in the regulation of stress response and in the biology of mood disorders. Multiple transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been described for this gene. [provided by RefSeq

NTF4
Gene Alias
NT-4/5, NT4, NT5, NTF5
Gene Description
neurotrophin 4
Omim ID
162662Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
This gene is a member of a family of neurotrophic factors, neurotrophins, that control survival and differentiation of mammalian neurons. The expression of this gene is ubiquitous and less influenced by environmental signals. While knock-outs of other neurotrophins including nerve growth factor, brain-derived neurotrophic factor, and neurotrophin 3 prove lethal during early postnatal development, NTF5-deficient mice only show minor cellular deficits and develop normally to adulthood.
