Activity
Pegylated chicken prolactin was tested in vitro for the biological functionality by inducing proliferation of Nb2 cells or Baf/3 cells stably transfected with chicken prolactin receptors, although the activity is lower than that of chicken prolactin. However, it can be assumed that the biological activity in vivo is higher than that of chicken prolactin due to the longer retention time in the bloodstream.
