Western Blot (Cell lysate)
Application

Western Blot (Cell lysate)

Western blot analysis of Lane 1: NIH-3T3 cell lysate (Mouse embryonic fibroblast cells); Lane 2: NBT-II cell lysate (Rat Wistar bladder tumour cells); Lane 3: PC12 cell lysate (Pheochromocytoma of rat adrenal medulla) with MRE11A polyclonal antibody (Cat# PAB29338) at 1:100-1:250 dilution.

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Application

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)

Immunohistochemical staining of human colon with MRE11A polyclonal antibody (Cat# PAB29338) shows strong nuclear positivity in glandular cells at 1:200-1:500 dilution.

Immunofluorescence
Application

Immunofluorescence

Immunofluorescent staining of human cell line U-2 OS with MRE11A polyclonal antibody (Cat# PAB29338) under 1-4 ug/mL working concentration shows positivity in nucleus but excluded from the nucleoli.

    Gene Summary

This gene encodes a nuclear protein involved in homologous recombination, telomere length maintenance, and DNA double-strand break repair. By itself, the protein has 3' to 5' exonuclease activity and endonuclease activity. The protein forms a complex with the RAD50 homolog; this complex is required for nonhomologous joining of DNA ends and possesses increased single-stranded DNA endonuclease and 3' to 5' exonuclease activities. In conjunction with a DNA ligase, this protein promotes the joining of noncomplementary ends in vitro using short homologies near the ends of the DNA fragments. This gene has a pseudogene on chromosome 3. Alternative splicing of this gene results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq
