Applications
Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
Western blot analysis of SNCA polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB4478) in mouse brain tissue lysate . SNCA (arrow) was detected using the purified SNCA polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB4478) .Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue reacted with SNCA polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB4478) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining . This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated . HC = hepatocarcinoma .Enzyme-linked Immunoabsorbent Assay

Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
Alpha-synuclein is a member of the synuclein family, which also includes beta- and gamma-synuclein. Synucleins are abundantly expressed in the brain and alpha- and beta-synuclein inhibit phospholipase D2 selectively. SNCA may serve to integrate presynaptic signaling and membrane trafficking. Defects in SNCA have been implicated in the pathogenesis of Parkinson disease. SNCA peptides are a major component of amyloid plaques in the brains of patients with Alzheimer's disease. Four alternatively spliced transcripts encoding two different isoforms have been identified for this gene. [provided by RefSeq
