Western blot analysis of STK11 (arrow) using STK11 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB2804). 293 cell lysates (2 ug/lane) either nontransfected (Lane 1) or transiently transfected with the STK11 gene (Lane 2).
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with STK11 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB2804) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma.
This gene, which encodes a member of the serine/threonine kinase family, regulates cell polarity and functions as a tumor suppressor. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, an autosomal dominant disorder characterized by the growth of polyps in the gastrointestinal tract, pigmented macules on the skin and mouth, and other neoplasms. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been observed but have not been thoroughly characterized. [provided by RefSeq
