Product Description
This protein protein interaction antibody pair set comes with two antibodies to detect the protein-protein interaction, one against the CYCS protein, and the other against the CASP9 protein for use in in situ Proximity Ligation Assay. See Publication Reference below.
Reactivity
Human
Quality Control Testing
Protein protein interaction immunofluorescence result.
Representative image of Proximity Ligation Assay of protein-protein interactions between CYCS and CASP9. HeLa cells were stained with anti-CYCS rabbit purified polyclonal antibody 1:1200 and anti-CASP9 mouse monoclonal antibody 1:50. Each red dot represents the detection of protein-protein interaction complex. The images were analyzed using an optimized freeware (BlobFinder) download from The Centre for Image Analysis at Uppsala University.
Supplied Product
Antibody pair set content:
1. CYCS rabbit purified polyclonal antibody (100 ug)
2. CASP9 mouse monoclonal antibody (40 ug)
*Reagents are sufficient for at least 30-50 assays using recommended protocols.Storage Instruction

Gene Description
caspase 9, apoptosis-related cysteine peptidase
Omim ID

HyperlinkGene Summary
This gene encodes a member of the cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) family. Sequential activation of caspases plays a central role in the execution-phase of cell apoptosis. Caspases exist as inactive proenzymes which undergo proteolytic processing at conserved aspartic residues to produce two subunits, large and small, that dimerize to form the active enzyme. This protein is processed by caspase APAF1; this step is thought to be one of the earliest in the caspase activation cascade. Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants which encode different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq

Gene Info — CYCS
Entrez GeneID
54205Gene Name
CYCS
Gene Alias
CYC, HCS
Gene Description
cytochrome c, somatic
Omim ID
123970Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
This gene encodes cytochrome c, a component of the electron transport chain in mitochondria. The heme group of cytochrome c accepts electrons from the b-c1 complex and transfers electrons to the cytochrome oxidase complex. Cytochrome c is also involved in initiation of apoptosis. Upon release of cytochrome c to the cytoplasm, the protein binds apoptotic protease activating factor which activates the apoptotic initiator procaspase 9. Many cytochrome c pseudogenes exist, scattered throughout the human genome. [provided by RefSeq
