Applications
Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
Western blot using CAMK2G polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB9984) shows detectionof a band ~54 KDa corresponding to human CAMK2G (arrowhead lane 1).
Specific reactivity with this band is blocked when the antibody is pre-incubated with the immunizing peptide (Lane 2).
Approximately 35 ug of a mouse brain tissue lysate was separated by 4-20% SDS-PAGE and transferred onto nitrocellulose.
CAMK2G was similarly detected on lysates from rat brain (not shown).
After blocking the membrane was probed with the primary antibody diluted to 1 : 1,500 for 2h at room temperature followed by washes and reaction with a 1 : 10,000 dilution of IRDye™800 conjugated Gt-a-Rabbit IgG [H&L] MX for 45 min at room temperature.
IRDye™800 fluorescence image was captured using the Odyssey® Infrared Imaging System developed by LI-COR.

HyperlinkGene Summary
The product of this gene belongs to the Serine/Threonine protein kinase family, and to the Ca(2+)/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase subfamily. Calcium signaling is crucial for several aspects of plasticity at glutamatergic synapses. In mammalian cells the enzyme is composed of four different chains: alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The product of this gene is a gamma chain. Six alternatively spliced variants that encode six different isoforms have been characterized to date. Additional alternative splice variants that encode different isoforms have been described, but their full-length nature has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq
