Abnova provides an in-house service to basic, translational and clinical researchers investigating the biology of circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Our capability is supported by a label-free, microfiltration Captor™ system for isolation, enumeration, and retrieval of CTCs from < 2ml of blood sample. The system utilizes a proprietary Clear Cell™ CTChip® with myriads of crescent-shaped microwells to ensure capturing of CTCs, which are stiffer, less deformable, and larger thereby effectively trapped within these microwells.
Captor™ platform maximizes CTCs isolation efficiency, purity, and function by preserving cell’s integrity, allowing retrieval of the viable cells in their native state. Captured CTCs are used for downstream protein, gene, and cell culture studies. Relevant CTC applications include study of cancer metastasis, biomarker discovery, and correlation to disease diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment. We are keen to learn of our customers’ specific research needs.

Specimen Requirement
Human whole blood: at least 2ml collected in EDTA tube in room temperature. Do not refrigerate.
Mouse whole blood: at least 0.5ml collected in EDTA tube in room temperature. Do not refrigerate.
Ship promptly. Specimen must be assayed in our laboratory within 6 hours of collection.
Method
Isolation: Captor™ label-free, microfiltration system plus CTChip® (CTChip® - Staining) to capture CTCs.
Identification:
On chip staining with anti-EpCAM, CD45, Cytokeratins 8/18/19, and DAPI as basic panel to identify CTCs and other protein marker studies.
Retrieval:
Captor™ label-free, microfiltration system plus CTChip® (CTChip® - Retrieval) to retrieve CTCs for downstream gene and cell culture analysis.
Deliverable
An interpretive report including data and images will be provided.
Isolation of CTCs.
Enumeration of CTCs – the identification of CTCs in the samples.
Protein Marker – Basic antibody staining to confirm presence of CTCs. Adjunctive antibody staining of protein markers under investigation per customers' request.
Retrieved CTCs will be triaged according to customer’s request.
