Western blot using TP53BP2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB9975) to detect over-expressed TP53BP2 in MCF-7 cells (Lane 2, arrowhead). Lane 1 is a non-transfected control. Lane 3 is MCF-7 cells over-expressing PPP1R13B. Cell extracts were electrophoresed and transferred to nitrocellulose. The membrane was probed with the primary antibody at a 1 : 1,000 dilution. This gene encodes a member of the ASPP (apoptosis-stimulating protein of p53) family of p53 interacting proteins. The protein contains four ankyrin repeats and an SH3 domain involved in protein-protein interactions. It is localized to the perinuclear region of the cytoplasm, and regulates apoptosis and cell growth through interactions with other regulatory molecules including members of the p53 family.
