Applications
Western Blot (Transfected lysate)
PTGS2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB9950) is shownto detect PTGS2 present in PTGS2 transfected Sf9 cellextract (lane 1) and IL1B induced WISH cell extract (lane 2).
Detection occursusing a 1 : 10,000 dilution of antibody followed by 1 : 10,000 dilution of HRP Goat-a-Rabbit with visualization via ECL. Film exposure approximately1'.Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Immunohistochemical staining with PTGS2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB9950) was diluted 1 : 500 to detect PTGS2 in human brain cortex tissue.
Tissue was formalin fixed and paraffin embedded.
No pre-treatment of sample was required.
The image shows the localization of antibody as the precipitated red signal, with a hematoxylin purple nuclear counter stain.Enzyme-linked Immunoabsorbent Assay

HyperlinkGene Summary
Prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase (PTGS), also known as cyclooxygenase, is the key enzyme in prostaglandin biosynthesis, and acts both as a dioxygenase and as a peroxidase. There are two isozymes of PTGS: a constitutive PTGS1 and an inducible PTGS2, which differ in their regulation of expression and tissue distribution. This gene encodes the inducible isozyme. It is regulated by specific stimulatory events, suggesting that it is responsible for the prostanoid biosynthesis involved in inflammation and mitogenesis. [provided by RefSeq
