Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
Application

Western Blot (Tissue lysate)

The PCK1 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3309) is used in Western blot to detect PCK1 in mouse liver tissue lysate.

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Application

Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)

Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue reacted with PCK1 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3309) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. HC = hepatocarcinoma.

    Gene Summary

This gene is a main control point for the regulation of gluconeogenesis. The cytosolic enzyme encoded by this gene, along with GTP, catalyzes the formation of phosphoenolpyruvate from oxaloacetate, with the release of carbon dioxide and GDP. The expression of this gene can be regulated by insulin, glucocorticoids, glucagon, cAMP, and diet. Defects in this gene are a cause of cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase deficiency. A mitochondrial isozyme of the encoded protein also has been characterized. [provided by RefSeq
