Applications
Western Blot (Cell lysate)
(LEFT) Western blot analysis of BRD2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3245) in A-375 cell lysate. BRD2 (arrow) was detected using purified polyclonal antibody. Secondary HRP-anti-rabbit was used for signal visualization with chemiluminescence.Western Blot (Transfected lysate)
Western blot analysis of BRD2 (arrow) using rabbit BRD2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3245). 293 cell lysates (2 ug/lane) either nontransfected (Lane 1) or transiently transfected with the BRD2 gene (Lane 2) (Origene Technologies).Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with BRD2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3245) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma. -

HyperlinkGene Summary
This gene encodes a transcriptional regulator that belongs to the BET (bromodomains and extra terminal domain) family of proteins. This protein associates with transcription complexes and with acetylated chromatin during mitosis, and it selectively binds to the acetylated lysine-12 residue of histone H4 via its two bromodomains. The gene maps to the major histocompatability complex (MHC) class II region on chromosome 6p21.3, but sequence comparison suggests that the protein is not involved in the immune response. This gene has been implicated in juvenile myoclonic epilepsy, a common form of epilepsy that becomes apparent in adolescence. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been described for this gene, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined. [provided by RefSeq
