Applications
Western Blot (Cell lysate)
Western blot analysis of CDH7 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3132) in K-562 cell line lysates (35 ug/lane). CDH7 (arrow) was detected using the purified polyclonal antibody.Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human prostate carcinomareacted with CDH7 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3132), which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by AEC staining.
This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated.Flow Cytometry
Flow cytometric analysis of NCI-H292 cells using CDH7 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB3132)(bottom histogram) compared to a negative control cell (top histogram).
FITC-conjugated goat-anti-rabbit secondary antibodies were used for the analysis. -

HyperlinkGene Summary
This gene is a type II classical cadherin from the cadherin superfamily. The encoded membrane protein is a calcium dependent cell-cell adhesion glycoprotein comprised of five extracellular cadherin repeats, a transmembrane region and a highly conserved cytoplasmic tail. Type II (atypical) cadherins are defined based on their lack of a HAV cell adhesion recognition sequence specific to type I cadherins. Cadherins mediate cell-cell binding in a homophilic manner, contributing to the sorting of heterogeneous cell types and the maintenance of orderly structures. Alternative splicing in the 5' UTR of this gene yields variant transcripts encoding the same protein. [provided by RefSeq
