Applications
Western Blot (Cell lysate)
Western Blot (Cell lysate) analysis of (1) Negative control (vector only transfected HEK293T lysate), and (2) Over-expression lysate (Co-expressed with a C-terminal myc-DDK tag (~3.1 kDa) in mammalian HEK293T cells).Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Immunohistochemical staining (Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded sections) of human lymph node shows strong cytoplasmic positivity in reaction center cells and lymphoid cells outside reaction centra. -

Gene Description
ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme E2, J1 (UBC6 homolog, yeast)
Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
The modification of proteins with ubiquitin is an important cellular mechanism for targeting abnormal or short-lived proteins for degradation. Ubiquitination involves at least three classes of enzymes: ubiquitin-activating enzymes, or E1s, ubiquitin-conjugating enzymes, or E2s, and ubiquitin-protein ligases, or E3s. This gene encodes a member of the E2 ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme family. This enzyme is located in the membrane of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) and may contribute to quality control ER-associated degradation by the ubiquitin-proteasome system. [provided by RefSeq
