Rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against partial synthetic peptide of human PHB.
A synthetic peptide (conjugated with KLH) corresponding to residues within 50-100 of human PHB.
Theoretical MW (kDa):
ELISA (0.05-0.2 ug/mL) Western Blot (0.5-1 ug/mL) The optimal working dilution should be determined by the end user.
Lyophilized from 0.5 mg/mL PBS, pH 7.4 (0.02% sodium azide).
Store at -20°C or lower. Reconstitute the lyophilized powder with deionized water (or equivalent) to an antibody concentration of 0.5 mg/mL. The reconstituted antibody can be stored for 2-3 weeks at 4°C. For long term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C or lower. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
This product contains sodium azide: a POISONOUS AND HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCE which should be handled by trained staff only.
Prohibitin is an evolutionarily conserved gene that is ubiquitously expressed. It is thought to be a negative regulator of cell proliferation and may be a tumor suppressor. Mutations in PHB have been linked to sporadic breast cancer. Prohibitin is expressed as two transcripts with varying lengths of 3' untranslated region. The longer transcript is present at higher levels in proliferating tissues and cells, suggesting that this longer 3' untranslated region may function as a trans-acting regulatory RNA.
