Applications
Western Blot (Transfected lysate)
Western blot analysis of Lane 1: Negative control (vector only transfected HEK293T lysate), Lane 2: Over-expression Lysate (Co-expressed with a C-terminal myc-DDK tag (~3.1 kDa) in mammalian HEK293T cells) with STAT4 polyclonal antibody at 1:100-1:250 dilution.Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Immunohistochemical staining of human testis with STAT4 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB28497) shows moderate nucelar positivity in subsets of cells in seminiferus ducts at 1:50-1:200 dilution.Immunofluorescence
Immunofluorescent staining of human cell line A-431 with STAT4 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB28497) at 1-4 ug/ml shows positivity in nucleus but not nucleoli. -

HyperlinkGene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors. In response to cytokines and growth factors, STAT family members are phosphorylated by the receptor associated kinases, and then form homo- or heterodimers that translocate to the cell nucleus where they act as transcription activators. This protein is essential for mediating responses to IL12 in lymphocytes, and regulating the differentiation of T helper cells. [provided by RefSeq
