Applications
Western Blot (Cell lysate)
Western blot analysis of PDXK polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB2725) in HepG2 cell line lysate (35 ug/lane). PDXK (arrow) was detected using the purified polyclonal antibody.Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human cancer tissue reacted with PDXK polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB2725) , which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody, followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry ; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. BC = breast carcinoma. -

Gene Description
pyridoxal (pyridoxine, vitamin B6) kinase

HyperlinkGene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene phosphorylates vitamin B6, a step required for the conversion of vitamin B6 to pyridoxal-5-phosphate, an important cofactor in intermediary metabolism. The encoded protein is cytoplasmic and probably acts as a homodimer. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been described, but their biological validity has not been determined.
