Applications
Western Blot (Recombinant protein)
Western blot using GDF15 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB16899) shows detection of a 42 KDa band corresponding to purified recombinant fusion protein MBP-human GDF15. Samples were electrophoresed on a 4-20% gradient gel under reducing conditions. Primary antibody was used at 1 : 1000 in 1% BSA-TBST overnight at 4°C. DyLight649™ Goat Anti-Rabbit IgG secondary antibody was used at 1 : 20,000 in Blocking Buffer for Fluorescent Western Blotting for 30 min at room temperature. Image was captured using the BioRad Versadoc™ 4000MP Imaging System.Enzyme-linked Immunoabsorbent Assay

HyperlinkGene Summary
Bone morphogenetic proteins (e.g., BMP5; MIM 112265) are members of the transforming growth factor-beta (see TGFB1; MIM 190180) superfamily and regulate tissue differentiation and maintenance. They are synthesized as precursor molecules that are processed at a dibasic cleavage site to release C-terminal domains containing a characteristic motif of 7 conserved cysteines in the mature protein.[supplied by OMIM
