Applications
Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
Western blot analysis of rat brain tissue lysate (10 mg/lane). Blot was probed with NOS1 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB15602) at 1 : 250 (Lane 1) or 1 : 1000 (Lane 2).Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Formalin fixed, citric acid treated parafin sections of adult rat striatum. Sections were probed with NOS1 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB15602) then anti-Rabbit HRP before detection using DAB.

IHPS1, NOS, nNOS
Gene Description
nitric oxide synthase 1 (neuronal)
Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
Nitric oxide is a reactive free radical which acts as a biologic mediator in several processes, including neurotransmission and antimicrobial and antitumoral activities. Nitric oxide is synthesized from L-arginine by nitric oxide synthases. This gene encodes a nitric oxide synthase which is highly expressed in skeletal muscle. Genetic variations in this gene are associated with infantile hypertrophic pyloric stenosis type 1
