  • Specification
  • Product Description:
  • Rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against recombinant ALOX15B .
  • Immunogen:
  • Recombinant protein corresponding to human ALOX15B .
  • Host:
  • Rabbit
  • Theoretical MW (kDa):
  • 78.8
  • Reactivity:
  • Human, Mouse
  • Specificity:
  • This rabbit antibody reacts specifically with 15-lipoxygenase form-2 in human tissues and 8-lipoxygenase in murine tissues. 15-Lipoxygenase Form-2 (15-LOX-2) is expressed primarily in lung tissue, hair roots, the prostate and the cornea and is a useful biomarker in eicosanoid studies.

  • Gene Information
  • Entrez GeneID:
  • 247
  • Gene Name:
  • ALOX15B
  • Gene Alias:
  • 15-LOX-2
  • Gene Description:
  • arachidonate 15-lipoxygenase, type B
  • Gene Summary:
  • This gene encodes a member of the lipoxygenase family of structurally related nonheme iron dioxygenases involved in the production of fatty acid hydroperoxides. The encoded protein converts arachidonic acid exclusively to 15S-hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoic acid, while metabolizing linoleic acid less effectively. This gene is located in a cluster of related genes and a pseudogene that spans approximately 100 kilobases on the short arm of chromosome 17. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been described. [provided by RefSeq
