Applications
Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
The MAPKAPK5 (phospho S93) polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB0520) is used in Western blot to detect Phospho-MAPKAPK5-S93 in mouse heart tissue lysate. PAD4 (arrow) was detected using the purified polyclonal antibody.Western Blot (Cell lysate)
Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
Formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded human hepatocellular carcinoma tissue reacted with MAPKAPK5 (phospho S93) polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB0520) which was peroxidase-conjugated to the secondary antibody followed by DAB staining. This data demonstrates the use of this antibody for immunohistochemistry; clinical relevance has not been evaluated. HC = hepatocarcinoma. -

HyperlinkGene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the serine/threonine kinase family. In response to cellular stress and proinflammatory cytokines, this kinase is activated through its phosphorylation by MAP kinases including MAPK1/ERK, MAPK14/p38-alpha, and MAPK11/p38-beta. In vitro, this kinase phosphorylates heat shock protein HSP27 at its physiologically relevant sites. Two alternately spliced transcript variants of this gene encoding distinct isoforms have been reported. [provided by RefSeq
