  • Escherichia coli
  • Theoretical MW (kDa):
  • 42.7
  • Reactivity:
  • Human
  • Form:
  • Lyophilized
  • Preparation Method:
  • Escherichia coli expression system
  • Purity:
  • 95%
  • Endotoxin Level:
  • Endotoxin level is <0.1 ng/ug of protein (<1 EU/ug).
  • Activity:
  • Determined by its inhibitory effect against single chain tPA induced cleavage of a chromogenic substrate in Imidazole Buffer at 37°C. Half maximal inhibition against 1.0 ug/mL of single chain tPA was obtained at a concentration of 2.0 ug/mL.
  • Recommend Usage:
  • Activity assay
    SDS-PAGE
The optimal working dilution should be determined by the end user.
  • Storage Buffer:
  • Lyophilized from 50mM Sodium Acetate (pH 5.5, 100mM NaCl).
  • Storage Instruction:
  • Store at -20°C.
Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Do not vortex.
For extended storage, it is recommended to further dilute in a buffer containing a carrier protein (example 0.1% BSA) and store in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C.

  • Gene Information
  • Entrez GeneID:
  • 5054
  • Gene Name:
  • SERPINE1
  • Gene Alias:
  • PAI,PAI-1,PAI1,PLANH1
  • Gene Description:
  • serpin peptidase inhibitor, clade E (nexin, plasminogen activator inhibitor type 1), member 1
  • Gene Summary:
  • This gene encodes a member of the serine proteinase inhibitor (serpin) superfamily. This member is the principal inhibitor of tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) and urokinase (uPA), and hence is an inhibitor of fibrinolysis. Defects in this gene are the cause of plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 deficiency (PAI-1 deficiency), and high concentrations of the gene product are associated with thrombophilia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq
