Human MAP2K6 (NP_002749.2, 1 a.a. - 334 a.a.) full-length recombinant protein with GST tag expressed in Escherichia coli.
Theoretical MW (kDa):
Escherichia coli expression system
Glutathione sepharose chromatography
59 % by SDS-PAGE/CBB staining
The activity was determined by ELISA. The enzyme was incubated with GST-fused substrate protein, and after stopping kinase reaction by EDTA, the reaction solution was transferred into glutathione- coated plate. Phosphorylation was detected by anti-phospho antibody and HRP-labeled anti-rabbit IgG. Substrate: p38a (9-352). ATP: 100 uM.
Quality Control Testing:
Loading 1 ug protein in SDS-PAGE
In 50 mM Tris-HCl, 150 mM NaCl, pH 7.5 (0.05% Brij35, 1 mM DTT, 10% glycerol)
Store at -80°C. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
This gene encodes a member of the dual specificity protein kinase family, which functions as a mitogen-activated protein (MAP) kinase kinase. MAP kinases, also known as extracellular signal-regulated kinases (ERKs), act as an integration point for multiple biochemical signals. This protein phosphorylates and activates p38 MAP kinase in response to inflammatory cytokines or environmental stress. As an essential component of p38 MAP kinase mediated signal transduction pathway, this gene is involved in many cellular processes such as stress induced cell cycle arrest, transcription activation and apoptosis.
