Product Description
Bacteria protease native protein from Staphylococcus aureus, strain V8.
Background Information
This enzyme will cleave peptide bonds on the carboxyl-terminal side of either aspartate or glutamate residues. Only the aspartoyl bonds of asp-gly are cleaved at a detectable rate and the glutamoyl bonds involving hydrophobic amino acids with bulky side chains are cleaved at a low rate. It does demonstrate a high level of substrate specificity.
