Solution. Purified. Aggregate-free (Monophoretic on native gel electrophoresis).
Host:
Bovine
Theoretical MW (kDa):
13.7
Form:
Liquid
Preparation Method:
Native protein chromatographically purified from Bovine Pancreas
Activity:
>=3,000 units per mg protein. One Kunitz unit is the amount of enzyme required to cause an increase in absorbance of 1.0 at 260 nm at 37°C (pH 5.0) when yeast rRNA is hydrolyzed to acid-soluble oligonucleotides. 50 units are equivalent to 1 Kunitz unit.
Recommend Usage:
Ribonuclease Assay; RNA removal during DNA isolation; RNA sequence analysis; RNase protection assays; RNA quantification or mapping.
Storage Buffer:
In 100 mM phosphate buffer containing 0.1% v/v phenol as a preservative
Storage Instruction:
Store at -20°C.
Note:
The presence of 100 mM phosphate makes this preparation unsuitable for heat treatment.
Biological function:
Pancreatic ribonuclease (RNase) is an endoribonuclease. There are two forms, RNase A and RNase B, RNase B is the glycosylated form of RNase A.
