Preparation Method
Native protein purified from Clostridium histolyticum. Prepared cultures grown in medium completely devoid of animal based components and designed for bioprocessing applications where introduction of animal derived pathogens must be prevented.
Activity
>=150 units per mg dry weight. One Unit releases one micromole of L-leucine equivalents from collagen in 5 hours at 37°C, pH 7.5.

Collagenase Assay; Tissue dissociation.
Storage Instruction
Store at 4°C on dry atmosphere.
For primary cell isolation, culture and tissue dissociation: Reconstituted in balanced salt solutions (such as Hank's, Earle's and others) at concentrations from 0.05% to 0.5% (w/v). For enzymetic assay: Reconstituted in 0.05 M TES buffer with 0.36 mM calcium chloride, pH 7.5 at a concentration of 1.0 mg/ml. -
