The activity is determined by the dose-dependent proliferation of TF-1 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is ? 10 ng/mL; ? 1.0 x 10^5 units/mg.
Quality Control Testing:
1 ug/lane in 4-20% Tris-Glycine gel Stained with Coomassie Blue
Lane 1: non-reducing conditions Lane 2: reducing conditions
Storage Buffer:
Lyophilized from a sterile (0.2 micron) filtered aqueous solution (0.1% trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)).
Storage Instruction:
Store at -20°C on dry atmosphere. After reconstitution with sterilized water, store at -20°C or lower. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Note:
Result of activity analysis
Serial dilutions of human IL11 (starting at 100 ng/mL) were added to T-11 cells growing the presence of 2 ng/mL IL-6. After 91 hours, cell proliferation was measured and the linear portion of the curve was us used to calculate the ED50.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the gp130 family of cytokines. These cytokines drive the assembly of multisubunit receptor complexes, all of which contain at least one molecule of the transmembrane signaling receptor IL6ST (gp130). This cytokine is shown to stimulate the T-cell-dependent development of immunoglobulin-producing B cells. It is also found to support the proliferation of hematopoietic stem cells and megakaryocyte progenitor cells. [provided by RefSeq
