  • Specification
  • Product Description:
  • Human EPO (P01588) partial recombinant protein expressed in CHO cells.
  • Sequence:
  • Host:
  • Hamster
  • Theoretical MW (kDa):
  • 37
  • Form:
  • Lyophilized
  • Preparation Method:
  • Mammalian cell (CHO) expression system
  • Purity:
  • >= 90% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
  • Endotoxin Level:
  • Less than 0.1 ng/ug (I EU/ug) of rhEPO.
  • Activity:
  • Determined by a cell proliferation assay using TF-1 cells. The expected ED50 for this effect is 0.8-1.0 ng/mL.
  • Storage Buffer:
  • Lyophilized from 0.58 mg sodium citrate, 0.58 mg sodium chloride, 0.006 mg citric acid.
  • Storage Instruction:
  • Store at -20°C on dry atmosphere.
After reconstitution with sterilized water, store at -20°C.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Reconstitute in water to a concentration of 0.1 to 1.0 mg/mL. This solution can then be diluted into other aqueous buffers containing a carrier protein (like 0.1% BSA) and stored in working aliquots at -20°C to -80°C for future use.
  • Note:
  • This EPO (Human) Recombinant Protein contains 166 amino acid residues and has a calculated molecular weight of approximately 18.4 kDa. As a result of glycosylation, Recombinant Human EPO migrates with an apparent molecular mass of 37.0 kDa by SDS-PAGE gel, under reducing and non-reducing conditions.

  • Gene Information
  • Entrez GeneID:
  • 2056
  • Gene Name:
  • EPO
  • Gene Alias:
  • EP,MGC138142
  • Gene Description:
  • erythropoietin
  • Gene Summary:
  • This gene is a member of the EPO/TPO family and encodes a secreted, glycosylated cytokine composed of four alpha helical bundles. The protein is found in the plasma and regulates red cell production by promoting erythroid differentiation and initiating hemoglobin synthesis. This protein also has neuroprotective activity against a variety of potential brain injuries and antiapoptotic functions in several tissue types. [provided by RefSeq
