  • Specification
  • Product Description:
  • Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against native ITGA2.
  • Immunogen:
  • Native purified ITGA2 from isolated human platelets.
  • Host:
  • Mouse
  • Reactivity:
  • Human
  • Specificity:
  • The molecular weight of the recognized antigen is 138/115KDa under non-reducing conditions and 145/126KDa under reduced conditions. Recognizes the VLA2 antigen (alpha 2 beta 1 complex) also called Ia/IIa glycoprotein complex or collagen receptor. This antibody reacts with the molecules carrying the Br(a) as well as the Br(b) alloantigen. It reacts with platelets, megakaryocytes and activated T cells. Does not react with B lymphocytes, T lymphocytes, monocytes, granulocytes and red blood cells. This antibody inhibits the adhesion of platelets to collagen.

  • 3673
  • Gene Name:
  • ITGA2
  • Gene Alias:
  • BR,CD49B,GPIa,VLA-2,VLAA2
  • Gene Description:
  • integrin, alpha 2 (CD49B, alpha 2 subunit of VLA-2 receptor)
  • Gene Summary:
  • This gene product belongs to the integrin alpha chain family. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane glycoproteins composed of a distinct alpha chain and a common beta chain. They are found on a wide variety of cell types including, T cells, fibroblasts and platelets. Integrins are involved in cell adhesion and also participate in cell-surface mediated signalling.
