  • Applications
  • ChIP
  • ChIP
  • ChIP assays were performed using human HeLa cells. A titration of the antibody consisting of 1, 2, 5, and 10 ug per ChIP experiment was analysed. IgG (5 ug/IP) was used as negative IP control. QPCR was performed with primers for the GAPDH promoter and for the coding region of p21, a known target gene of HDAC1. The figure shows the recovery, expressed as a % of input (the relative amount of immunoprecipitated DNA compared to input DNA after qPCR analysis).
  • Western Blot (Cell lysate)
  • Western Blot (Cell lysate)
  • Western Blot (Cell lysate) analysis of 40 ug nuclear extracts of HeLa cells.
  • Western Blot (Transfected lysate)
  • Western Blot (Transfected lysate)
  • Western Blot (Cell lysate) analysis of (1) Negative control, and (2) 40 ug whole cell extracts of HeLa cells transfected with HDAC1 siRNA.
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Immunofluorescence
  • Immunofluorescent staining of Hela cell line with antibody followed by an anti-mouse antibody conjugated to Alexa594 (left). The middle panel shows staining of the nuclei with DAPI. A merge of the two stainings (right).

  • Gene Information
  • Entrez GeneID:
  • 3065
  • Gene Name:
  • HDAC1
  • Gene Alias:
  • DKFZp686H12203,GON-10,HD1,RPD3,RPD3L1
  • Gene Description:
  • histone deacetylase 1
  • Gene Summary:
  • Histone acetylation and deacetylation, catalyzed by multisubunit complexes, play a key role in the regulation of eukaryotic gene expression. The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the histone deacetylase/acuc/apha family and is a component of the histone deacetylase complex. It also interacts with retinoblastoma tumor-suppressor protein and this complex is a key element in the control of cell proliferation and differentiation. Together with metastasis-associated protein-2, it deacetylates p53 and modulates its effect on cell growth and apoptosis. [provided by RefSeq
