Western blot using MET (phospho Y1349/1356) polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB9992) shows detection of phosphorylated MET. Human mammary B5/589 epithelial cells were serum-deprived and treated with or without HGF. Cell lysates were immunoprecipated with the anti-MET antibody, resolved by SDS-PAGE, transferred to PVDF membrane, and probed with MET (phospho Y1349/1356) polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB9992). The proto-oncogene MET product is the hepatocyte growth factor receptor and encodes tyrosine-kinase activity. The primary single chain precursor protein is post-translationally cleaved to produce the alpha and beta subunits, which are disulfide linked to form the mature receptor. Various mutations in the MET gene are associated with papillary renal carcinoma. Two transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq
