Three major subtypes of circulating rare cells (CRCs) in clinical applications are circulating tumor cells (CTCs), circulating progenitor cells (CPCs), and circulating fetal cells (CFCs). Abnova’s CytoPrep™ is a bio-robotic automation for sample preparation of CytoChipNano™ microfluidic chip. CytoPrep™ complements the CytoQuest™ CR positive enrichment system by alleviating all CytoChipNano™ manual operations involved in capture antibody coating, and detecting antibody and mutaFISH™ probe staining both before and after enrichment of CRCs. It provides unprecedented precision, accuracy, and reproducibility required for clinical adoption.
CytoPrep™ combines two 4-axial robotic arms, sensors, and smart software to perform complex biological tasks of CytoChipNano™ sample preparation. Starting from a fresh CytoChipNano™ housed in an addressable module, the 4-axial robotic arms simulate pipetting, aspirating, transferring, washing, and staining workflow for CytoChipNano™. The versatile robotic arms are guided by a multitude of real-time electrical and mechanical sensors, and intelligent algorithm for high throughput and multi-task functions. The entire workflow is operated under a fully transparent and self-contained environment to minimize cross contamination.
CytoPrep™ meets the rigorous requirement of high volume processing by bridging sample preparation with enrichment for a seamless transition from a clinical research platform to a robust in vitro diagnostic workstation. CytoPrep™ uses the same repertoire of circulating epithelial and tumor cell kits, mutaFISH™ probes, and peripheral bioreagents as in the CytoQuest™ CR system. CytoPrep™ is a powerful, sample preparation platform in the growing field of CRCs and derived clinical applications.
