Endocrine system is an integrated network comprised of a series of hormone-producing glands and organs. Each of the many types of hormones fulfills a specific function to communicate between cells which in turn regulate body functions, including growth and development, metabolism, and tissue function. A hormone imbalance, hyposecretion or hypersecretion of hormones, can result in endocrine disorders that could have a drastic effect on body functions.
Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) are the most common tests conducted in immunobiochemistry. ELISA detections are simple, reproductive and extremely sensitive. To determine the amount of a hormone in a sample, the antibody is tagged with an enzyme and a substrate for the enzyme that forms a colored product is used. The amount of colored product indicates the amount of hormone, in which the intensity of the color is indirectly proportional to the amount of the hormone in the sample.
Abnova just recently updated 100+ endocrine ELISA kits in our collection. Not only are there common ELISA kits used to target specific hormones in human, we have also added more kits targeting other species, such as horses, sheep, cats, canine and many more. Take your time to select the most appropriate ELISA Kits for your endocrine research!
There are 14 hormones in the endocrine ELISA kit collection: |
