- Store at 4°C. For long term storage store at -20°C or lower.
Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing. Upon initial thawing, apportion into working aliquots and store at -80°C for up to six months.

- Western Blot (Tissue lysate)
- Tissue lysate from mouse lung was resolved onto 12% SDS-PAGE and transferred onto NC Membrane, then probed by ACTA2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB12649) at 1 : 500, right lane. Left lane was depleted by immunizing peptide.
- Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/PFA-fixed paraffin-embedded sections)
- Immunohistochemical staining of human colon tissue stained with ACTA2 polyclonal antibody (Cat # PAB12649) at 1 : 200 for 10 min at RT. Staining of formalin-fixed tissue requires boiling tissue sections in 10 mM Citrate Buffer, pH 6.0 for 10 min followed by cooling at RT for 20 min.

- The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the actin family of proteins, which are highly conserved proteins that play a role in cell motility, structure and integrity. Alpha, beta and gamma actin isoforms have been identified, with alpha actins being a major constituent of the contractile apparatus, while beta and gamma actins are involved in the regulation of cell motility. This actin is an alpha actin that is found in skeletal muscle. Defects in this gene cause aortic aneurysm familial thoracic type 6.
