Mouse monoclonal antibody raised against synthetic peptide of MAPT.
Immunogen:
A synthetic peptide corresponding to human MAPT.
Host:
Mouse
Reactivity:
Human
Specificity:
This antibody secreted by clone 7B10.F2.E5 specifically detected phosphorylated Tau protein derived from human brain tissue. It recognized PHF-tau phosphorylated at Thr231. In both ELISA and WB, this antibody shows no cross-reactivity with other unrelated proteins.
Form:
Liquid
Isotype:
IgM
Recommend Usage:
ELISA (1:5000-1:10000) Western Blot (2-5 ug/mL) The optimal working dilution should be determined by the end user.
Storage Buffer:
In PBS, pH 7.5 (0.1% BSA)
Storage Instruction:
Store at 4°C. For long term storage store at -20°C. Aliquot to avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
This gene encodes the microtubule-associated protein tau (MAPT) whose transcript undergoes complex, regulated alternative splicing, giving rise to several mRNA species. MAPT transcripts are differentially expressed in the nervous system, depending on stage of neuronal maturation and neuron type. MAPT gene mutations have been associated with several neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer's disease, Pick's disease, frontotemporal dementia, cortico-basal degeneration and progressive supranuclear palsy.
