Applications
Western Blot
Western blot analysis of Raw264.7 (A), mouse liver (B) whole cell lysates with ACOX1 recombinant monoclonal antibody (Cat # RAB02463).Immunocytochemistry
Immunofluorescence
Immunofluorescent analysis of HeLa cells with ACOX1 recombinant monoclonal antibody (Cat # RAB02463). Formalin-fixed cells were permeabilized with 0.1% Triton X-100 in TBS for 5-10 minutes and blocked with 3% BSA-PBS for 30 minutes at room temperature. Cells were probed with the primary antibody in 3% BSA-PBS and incubated overnight at 4 °C in a hidified chamber. Cells were washed with PBST and incubated with a AF488-conjugated secondary antibody (green) in PBS at room temperature in the dark.Immunoprecipitation

Gene Ontology
HyperlinkGene Summary
The protein encoded by this gene is the first enzyme of the fatty acid beta-oxidation pathway, which catalyzes the desaturation of acyl-CoAs to 2-trans-enoyl-CoAs. It donates electrons directly to molecular oxygen, thereby producing hydrogen peroxide. Defects in this gene result in pseudoneonatal adrenoleukodystrophy, a disease that is characterized by accumulation of very long chain fatty acids. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified. [provided by RefSeq
Other Designations
acyl-CoA oxidase, straight-chain|peroxisomal fatty acyl-CoA oxidase
